Transparent Labs Bulk Pre-Workout Review

In an age of social media constantly bombarding us with products and supplements that promise to get us to our goals quickly, it has become increasingly more difficult to sort out what supplements actually work. If you look up the best pre-workout, you will find an array of fancy labelled tubs with names like “God Mode” and “Hooligan” but marketing can only go so far. When it comes down to actually what is in that tub of pre-workout the one that simply says “Bulk” stands above the rest. From my personal and client experimentation with multiple pre-workouts over the last year, I have come to the conclusion that Transparent Labs Bulk pre-workout can not be beat.

Lets break it down.

The primary ingredients in Transparent Labs Bulk Pre-Workout includes:

Citrulline Malate

Citrulline is one of the most important ingredients any pre-workout can have. Citrulline is converted to arginine once it is digested. Arginine is the main driver of nitric oxide production which is what creates optimal blood flow. Arginine also promotes strength and it has been shown to stimulate HGH production. Here’s the thing, citrulline is more effective at raising arginine levels than arginine itself. Citrulline is one of my personal favorite supplements. I take it alone in a powdered form offered by Transparent Labs on off days to promote blood flow. Transparent Labs Bulk has a whopping 6g of Citrulline Malate.

Beta-Alanine

Beta-Alanine promotes strength and reduces muscular fatigue but makes you itch. However, I am unsure if it is due to the addition of other ingredients but the beta-alanine in Bulk does not make me nearly as tingly as other pre-workouts such as Redcon1 Total War. I personally think this is a huge positive.

BCAAs

Branched Chain Amino Acids increase protein synthesis and prevent muscle catabolism during workouts. I personally would like to see Essential Amino Acids used instead of BCAAs in Bulk but that would increase the price quite a bit.

Betaine Anhydrous

Betaine Anhydrous is a strength promoter and fatigue reducer. Outside of the pre-workout world it is used to help treat ailments such as arthritis, heart failure, and depression.

L-Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine improves cognitive performance. I personally like nootropic supplements in pre-workout because I think it helps improve power output because power is a function of the nervous system.

Alpha-GPC

Alpha-GPC is a form of choline that gets incorporated into the creation of acetylcholine which is a neurotransmitter that is involved with cognitive function. People who are acetylcholine dominant, like myself, should prioritize choline consumption. As a side note, choline can be found in meat and eggs.

L-Theanine

L-Theanine reduces the jitteriness caused by caffeine. It also reduces your body’s ability to become tolerant of caffeine. That means you don’t have to constantly take more pre-workout to get the same stimulant effect.

Caffeine

180mg of caffeine in Bulk brings a smooth wakefulness feeling.

Dicaffeine Malate

Most pre-workouts have an intense high then a crash. Transparent Labs Bulk has a smooth alertness increase with no crash. Dicaffeine Malate is the reason for this because it prolongs the affects of caffeine.

Vitamins and Minerals

In addition to the performance enhancing stimulants, Bulk also has an array of vitamins and minerals. Bulk contains 3000iu of Vitamin D, 100mcg of vitamin B12, 5mg of vitamin B6. Its nice to see the vitamin D in Bulk but if you are supplementing with Vitamin D just be cautious of your intake. It also contains boron and zinc which are known to help increase testosterone production.

Taste

I have had the Blue Raspberry, Tropical Punch, Watermelon, Sour Grape, Green Apple, and Lemon Lime. All of them have good flavor except the lemon lime. My personal favorite is the sour grape.

Trustworthiness

All of Transparent Labs supplements are tested for banned substances so I feel safe taking them since I compete in drug tested powerlifting.
